About us

Introduction

The Department of Performing and Media Arts trains professionals for theatre performance and behind-the-scenes production. Based on theater, the department aims to integrate various talents with potential for image creation across multiple disciplines. Under the framework of the College of Communication, the department strengthens students' professional practice and integration of cross-disciplinary abilities in order for them to connect with relevant industries of media arts after graduation.

 

Features

  1. Curriculum distribution and practice: The curriculum covers two major areas: "Performing Arts" and "Exhibition and Creation." Students can develop their potentials by their interests and diversify their learning across disciplines.
  2. Well-established student counseling service: Each student is offered a one-on-one mentorship system for professional distribution and after-school counseling to strengthen articulation and adaptability at the admission, learning, and employment ends in order to apply what they learn.
  3. Adequate teaching facilities: The department provides students with professional performance venues and high-quality photographic facilities, including lighting and sound equipment in the Experimental Theater, as well as the props and scenery production in the Set-Up Factory.
  4. Diversified international learning opportunities: The department has overseas students from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mexico and other countries to exchange different cultures with each other and to participate actively in the Taiwan International Festival of Arts, drama competitions, off- campus performances and many other activities.
