Introduction of Hsuan Chuang University
Hsuan Chuang University was founded by the Buddhist society on 1997. It has 11 undergraduate departments and 5 graduate institutes out of the 4 colleges “College of Social Sciences”, “College of Communication”, “College of International Hospitality and Management” and “College of Art Design”, making it a teaching-oriented university. It stresses “learning to apply”, “latest education facility”, “convenient life”, “freedom of religious belief” and “beautiful campus”.
In response to sub-replacement fertility, HCU is orienting towards a small, beautiful university. The university's mid- to long-term development plan focuses on four major areas: Teaching, Counseling, Research, and Management, with Faculty Development & Learning Efficiency, Career Development & Social Mobility, Special Applications & Research Development, and School Sustainability & Public Development being the four main pillars for campus development. In the past five years, the university has received $500 million in grants from the Ministry of Education's Higher Education SPROUT Project. All departments have been fully accredited by the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan in their first, second, and third strategic stages.
